Tara & Harlee

When Tara first pulled up at our session I knew it was going to be an easy night...she was dressed soo cute and had such a sweet personality right from the get-go. On top of that she has an adorable baby girl, Harlee.  Tara was wanting to get some mother/daughter shots for her husband who is serving in the Army overseas. I can't imagine the strength it takes to go for long periods without your husband, especially with a baby, but Tara seems to handle it so gracefully. She gets to see her husband soon so I'm excited for her and Harlee!  I have no doubt that he'll love these photos of his two beautiful girls. Here are just a few from our shoot!

Lazy Days of Summer

Ok, so they aren't really lazy at all. In fact things have been crazy busy for me this summer. It seems like I have been doing tons of hair lately (which I love) and the photo sessions have really picked up!  (Which I really love).  I feel so blessed that God has given me two skills that I can use to make extra money, and still be a stay-at-home mom.  I had a fun session tonight with an adorable family.  I went into the shoot thinking it was going to be hard and a little stressful because there were three small children, but those kids acted like pros! I couldn't believe how many great shots I got and I'm really looking forward to starting the editing process tonight on them.
Last night we went out find the location for tonights shoot and my kids told me they would model for me...shame on me for believing them :)  I did manage to get a few cute shots of Riley (Rowan was too busy running away the whole time).  Oh well, pretty soon I'll be paying someone else to get good shots of my kids because they avoid me like crazy when my camera is in my hands!

Sweet Baby Reed

9 Days Old and Bright-Eyed.  Newborns are such a blessing, aren't they? Such a miracle to think that a week and half ago this beautiful little boy was still inside his mommy's tummy.  Full post coming soon, this is just a little preview :)

I love her joyous expression..which of course wasn't posed, I was trying to get her to feel natural and told her to fly her hands in the air, which she thought was funny so I got a beautiful natural smile out of her :)

Sweetness.

I had the pleasure of doing a mommy/daughter session this past weekend; that's a new one for me and it was wonderful! There is a love between a mom and her child like no other. It's impossible to explain, but now that I myself am a mom I know exactly how amazing that love and bond is. I thought this photo shows it well...I'll be giving them a full post soon!

Speaking of motherhood.... We're going to be welcoming a new baby to our family in August so I've been booking for July, September and October and cannot believe the response I've had! I am already full for those months, and when I say full, I mean busy.busy.busy. I feel that being a stay-at-home mom is my number one "job" at this time in my life, so I don't want to busy myself with too much photography, but someday when my kids are older I will love doing as many photoshoots as possible!  I was also encouraged this weekend with how smoothly and quickly the editing of this past session went. Tara ended up with a disc with over 170 edited photos and it only took me 2 days of editing off and on to get them all done.  Hopefully that means that editing with a 3 year old, 2 year old and newborn won't be too difficult :)  I'm excited for the challenge though and thankful to everyone for booking in the upcoming months!  If you're interested in an October session I'm willing to take on a few more week night appointments (I know that time of year is so beautiful with the changing leaves, so I want to accommodate as many families as possible)!  Email me if you'd like to set something up and be watching for Tara and Harlee's full session blogged.

The Bricker Family

It seems that every session I do lately becomes my new favorite!  This one was fun and easy, because the family involved are some of my very best friends.  They got married at the same time Nathan and I did and we both have had two babies around the same time and are now pregnant with our third (due 3 weeks apart!).  Alyssa makes pregnancy look GOOD, as you can see ....

"Little Yoda"

I was looking through the hundreds (if not thousands) of newborn/baby pictures I have and when I got to this one I started cracking up...I remember when I took it (about 20 months ago) we all said "aww, Jude looks like a little Yoda in this one!". So I thought just for fun I would share it :)

Pretty much all of the shots of my kids are of them "playing" but I decided to use one of my best friend Alyssa and her daughter Olivia for this challenge. Olivia and her little sister Selah discovered that they could have a fun time playing hide-and-go seek inside their moms dress :)
