The Kurowski Siblings

Back in October (the same day we did the Gibson Family) we also shot Katie and her husband Daniel, Dan and his fiancee Kaleigh, and Chrissy. Katie, Dan and Chrissy are siblings who wanted to surprise their parents with photos of themselves for Christmas...GREAT idea :)  Katie also had this awesome video made and is giving it to her parents for Christmas along with the disc with all the photos. I'll post a few favorites that aren't featured in the slideshow. Katie and her family were great to work with and I look forward to seeing them again (hint hint...have some babies!!) Seeing these pictures totally makes me miss fall and all the lovely colors. Winter can look so dreary! I hope these photos can brighten this wintery day for you!

The Julo Family

I met up with Jeanna, Jim, Zeke & Reuben at Unity Village, which is right outside of Lee's Summit(practically IN LS). It was an overcast day, and so I ended up giving the majority of the photos a sort of darker coloring, using a lot of blacks and greens. It was really fun to edit the photos, because it was a different look for me. Zeke is 7 years old and did AWESOME for what we were asking of him...to pose for the camera for an hour! Not something little boys (or boys of any age for that matter!). I love the photos of Jeanna lifting Reuben in the air, they look so happy. Poor Jim hurt his knee during a soccer game a few months back and so he was still on crutches (with pins in his knee) for our shoot, but he was up for anything and climbed up rock stairs and down narrow tiny rock stairs..basically whatever I asked him to do he did! Here are a few favorite shots...

Anaya's First Birthday Photshoot

We had such a strange October this year, freezing at the beginning, then warming up around the end! Thankfully when we did Anaya's photoshoot it was nice and warm out for being mid-October! Anaya had just turned one and was crawling everywhere, fast! She is such an adorable little girl and was really fun to work with. I loved how she kept looking straight into the camera. Here are a few favorites from the shoot...

As you can see, Anaya is beautiful enough to be a baby model, and those eyeslashes...gorgeous! I love the few family shots we took at sunset. Beautiful night, beautiful little girl!

WEDDINGS!!!

I have a few clients I need to blog about but Nathan hasn't finished moving all the files from our old computer over to this new one, so I'll just have to wait a few more days! I've been asked several times lately if I would like to do weddings, so I thought I'd announce that I am officially shooting weddings from here on out.
My own wedding photos didn't turn out (we hired a friend of a friend who ended up using his film camera instead of digital, then set up the flash to flash a second too late, so we have NO professional wedding pictures) so I know the importance of hiring someone you can trust. On an average shoot I take anywhere from 400-700 pictures (Keep in mind this is usually of 1-5 people) in about an hours worth of time. I can't even imagine how many pictures I would be taking at a wedding!! OOOohh I get excited just thinking about it!
I'm working on putting together two "packages". Of course the prices are going to seem a lot higher than my regular prices, but keep in mind that this is going to be hours of shooting and also I want to include prints, maybe a keepsake photo book of the day, etc. So be watching for my prices, I'll get them up this week! And if you know anyone interested have them email me at mandajeaton@gmail.com

Thanks guys!
Amanda

Catching up...

I need to play a little catch up! We just announced the winner of our latest contest late night, the winner is Ava Callahan with the Haiku  "We are Callahans, Need a family picture, Would be the first!"  Good job, Ava! And you were one of the few who actually stuck to the 5 syllable, 7 syllable, 5 syllable rule!
The past few weeks I've had the pleasure to do a few adorable babies/toddlers, and a few families as well! I shot half of the Mendenhall session at my house by my big bay window and they turned out really great. That window lets in so much natural light (which I prefer 100% of the time!). Here are a few of their indoor and then outdoor (family) sessions...

They are SOOOOOO cute. These are some of my all time favorite pictures, it was super easy to capture their personalities. Kids are so fun to capture. Later that week we went out to do some family photos...

Adam and Jessi, you guys have a beautiful family!
